Malta Guinness co-sponsors Okpekpe International Marathon in Edo

Actor Paul Obazele, Minister of Sports Bolaji Abdullahi and Governor Oshiomhole at the race It was all guts, sweat and victory at the inaugural edition of the Okpekpe international 10km Marathon, a first in itself to happen in the Etsako West local government area of Edo state. 

According to promoters of the race, Okpekpe Road Race was of highest international standard with route measured and certified by the IAAF measurer. The race was endorsed by the IAAF and the AAC and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), with the backing of Malta Guinness Low Sugar and the Edo State Government as major partners.


 

The  sheer display of will over the body was evident as athletes did battle for the coveted position of Number 1.
